James Behr is an ambassador of the arts as critically acclaimed pianist, recording artist, composer, professor and private instructor.  Hailed by The Boston Globe as “a demon pianist,” he teaches with charm and humor, sharing superb artistry and insights as pianist & music historian.

As Manhattan College professor, Behr lectures on piano, theory and music history.  He won First Prize in the 2013 Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, performing at Carnegie Hall, and has performed throughout the U.S., including the Ravinia and Tanglewood festivals, TV, radio, and as soloist with the Virginia Symphony, Naples Philharmonic and Florida Symphonic Pops.  A graduate of Juilliard (M.M. & B.M), Northwestern University (B.A.) and City University of New York (Juris Doctor), Behr is a teacher of the highest standards, passing on the finest traditions of Juilliard.  As a Steinway Artist, his private piano students appear annually in at Steinway Hall in New York.
